Respire!

The inspiration of this project is the tight correlation between an event, anemotion and their influences on respiration. Our bodies become the only canvaswhere to draw this trinomial. We want respiration to be the subtle guiding threadthat ties us with the public. With them we want to share all kinds of emotions, surprises or fears. The goal is to let the spectator experience our vertigo's, our unbalance and oursuspension while we are on board of our acrobatic machines. These are a globe, cyr wheel and balls. All of them in the sign of roundness and cyclic movement. Our artistic experiences taught us that when we stay honest, careful and openminded, our irrationality, instinct and performance skills will push us furtherinto our journey of discovering. This leads us to places where we can be fragilewithout any protection, and where we can explore simple things and expressour emotions. The breathlessness that we experience through our technically strongperformances leaves us no way of cheating. We can only be genuine. Our personalities feed each other like the two poles of respiration.

Less - Mess Performing Art

Efrat Stempler and Martin Stiefermann have been working together in various constellations since 2002. In 2008, they decided to launch joined label Less Mess, which searches aesthetically for new, interactive formats for dance and theater. Content wise they approach explicitly politically or socially relevant subjects in a global context. The tension between the Israeli and German cultural backgrounds of the two founders becomes a driving force.Less Mess‘s fi rst production ‚We explain the world‘ was realized for the festival ‚Trans Europe‘ in April 2009 in Hidesheim, Germany and coprudced by Ballhaus Ost, Berlin.‚We explain the world‘ is an interactive game performance which allows a competition between two groups of audience on the subject of the barrier - walls of the world. In that performance the audience either as an active participant or as a semi passive jury member has to fi ght to build a new wall - in accordance to the walls of the world that where chosen to take part of the game - from beer boxes, and or as a jury member, have to judge the walls that were built. Every evening another team could win.Currently Less Mess is working on a new project with the working title ‚a movement for europe‘ which will examine and collate different folks dances from all over europe with the new street dances like ‚Jump Style‘ and ‚Hip Hop‘, and will try to offer a new dance style out of this collage. On their process they are seeking to collaborate with different folks groups and youth on the streets.

The MAGDACABARET is an eccentric and weird show, created and performed by MAGDACLAN. A mix of poetry and craziness, a performance in which the contemporary circus runs into dance and acting, and this match becomes a language!A juggler, who has no physical limits, juggling with a giant sphere, trying to dominate - not always with success - its dimension and instability, an acrobatic couple, fighting and dancing and challenging one each other in an impressive duet of acrobalance, a funny and insane dance made by a spermatozoons' collective, the mad strep-teas of a postman on his unicycle...these are only a few ingredients of the MagdaCabaret, a show created by the Circus Director, Roberto Magro!
